Fanfei Li

Hi! I'm a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, where I'm supervised by Wieland Brendel. My research interests center on reasoning and generalization, particularly how model capabilities are shaped by prior experience, where their boundaries lie, and how those boundaries can be extended. I explore these questions across language and vision.

Before starting my PhD, I studied Applied Mathematics and Business Analytics at UCLA. I also spent two years as a Data Scientist at TikTok, previously interned at Amazon Web Services, and spent some time doing research in Michael Hoffmann's group at Caltech.
